Smugglers Adventure in Hastings has again been awarded a Certificate of Excellence by the online travel website TripAdvisor.
The award means the popular West Hill caves’ attraction is among the top 10 per cent of all businesses reviewed by TripAdvisor worldwide.
To qualify for the Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on TripAdvisor. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.
“We’re absolutely delighted to once again receive this award and it’s an important endorsement to be recognised by such a well-known organisation as TripAdvisor,” said manager Chrissie Daniels.
“Travel reviews are a really useful way to monitor how well you are doing as an attraction and we certainly take all comments; negative and positive extremely seriously.
“This certificate looks at consistently high reviews over a period of time and therefore provides a more accurate picture of how well or badly an attraction is responding to the differing requirements of its visitors.
“We are always looking at new ways to improve the overall visitor experience and our customer service. We’re only human and we can’t always get it entirely right but it’s great to see that, in the vast majority of cases, we’re providing people with a good day out,” she added.

More than 70 life-size characters, interactive displays, eerie lighting and sound effects and dramatic recreations bring this mysterious and often bloody world vividly to life.
